Restaurant owners from CHATHAM, DRESDEN and WALLACEBURG donated 100% of proceeds from sales of Smile Cookies to the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent
CHATHAM, ONTARIO (September 28, 2021) –From September 13-19, Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign supported charities in communities across the country, including the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent – one of 550 Canadian charities, hospitals and community programs supported through the annual campaign.
During that week, local Tim Hortons owners, the Pritchard family and Mike and Paula Grail donated local proceeds from every Smile Cookie sale towards the CTC Foundation. Recently, they presented the CTC with a donation in the amount of $36,103.
Not all services at the Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent are covered by government funding. Programs like Social Work, Therapeutic Recreation Services and Music Therapy are all funded by the CTC Foundation. Funds raised from the Smile Cookie Campaign will go towards providing programing and therapy for children that attend the Centre. The CTC served over 5,000 children in 2020, which equals to one in every five Chatham-Kent children.
Tim Hortons’ Smile Cookie campaign began in 1996 as a way to help raise funds for the Hamilton Children’s Hospital, and has grown to become a major fundraising event at Tim Hortons restaurants.
