Run for the Kids.

Run for the Kids - June 25, 2023

The Run for the Kids first annual charity run took place in Rondeau Provincial Park on June 25, and raised $80,000 for the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent (CTC Foundation). Participants of all ages and abilities came together to run, walk or move either a 200m or a 5km distance, with each kilometer representing a step towards supporting local kids and families.

The Run for the Kids event was a grand success, with 250 participants and an overwhelming show of support from the community, 40 of those were kids under 12 that ran the 200m event.  Everything kicked off early in the morning, with participants gathering at the starting point, brimming with enthusiasm and determination. The event also featured live music, a BBQ, and crafts and activities for children, creating a family-friendly atmosphere for all.

The Run for the Kids event exceeded all expectations, both in terms of participation and funds raised. It managed to attract a diverse range of participants, including individuals, families, corporate teams, and local organizations including Enbridge as the Champion sponsor, who supported the event with funds as well as a strong volunteer team on event day.
