CTC Foundation Launches Build for the Kids Capital Campaign

October 7-20, 2024: A Community Effort to Support the New State-of-the-Art Facility

(CHATHAM-KENT, ONTARIO – 08/20/2024)  – The Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent (CTCF-CK) is excited to announce the ‘Build for the Kids’ Capital Campaign, running from October 7-20, 2024. This two-week event is a crucial part of their mission to raise the final $500,000 needed to fulfill their $10 million community commitment needed for furnishings, equipment, and sustainability for the new, state-of-the-art facility on McNaughton Avenue in Chatham.

The entire community is invited to participate from October 7-20, 2024, in a series of 11 events throughout Chatham-Kent designed to bring the campaign closer to its fundraising goal. From family-friendly activities to local business involvement, there’s something for everyone, including a British High Tea at Tim Hortons, a White Glove Dinner at McDonald’s, a Halloween Bash at Red Barn Brewing Co, and much more. For the full calendar of events and to purchase tickets, please visit: buildforthekids.ca.

In addition to attending events, the community can show their support by purchasing a campaign t-shirt for $25, with an order form available online and pickup at the Foundation office. Local schools and businesses are also getting involved. Starting in late September, students and employees can purchase paper butterflies, which can be personalized and displayed in schools and businesses, engaging the community in a collective effort to support the cause.

“The ‘Build for the Kids’ Campaign is a testament to the strength and generosity of our community,” said Mike Genge, President & CEO of the Foundation. “Together, we can create a facility that meets the needs of our children today and for generations to come.”

For over 75 years, the Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent has been a cornerstone of support for children with special needs and their families. The Ontario government has generously committed $59 million to this project, and construction has already begun. The new 58,000-square-foot facility will double their current space, offering a more accessible and centrally located environment that enhances the services provided to thousands of children in the community.
