Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent Launches Final Fundraising Push with Strong Start at Chatham Chrysler
‘Build for the Kids’ Campaign Raises $339,800 in Initial Donations
from Local Businesses and Service Groups
(CHATHAM-KENT, ONTARIO) – The Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent (CTC-CK) is proud to announce the launch of the Build for the Kids final fundraising campaign, a two-week initiative from October 7-20, 2024. The campaign aims to raise the remaining $500,000 needed to complete the new state-of-the-art facility that will help children and youth in our community access vital therapy services.
The new building, designed to meet the growing needs of children and families, will enhance accessibility and provide a larger, more accommodating space for essential programs like physiotherapy, social work, recreational therapy, and more. With $9.5 million already raised, this last campaign seeks to inspire the community to help us reach the $10 million goal.
The campaign launched with great success at Chatham Chrysler today, where local service groups and businesses came together to offer their support. Generous donations from these community leaders helped to kick off the fundraising efforts, raising $339,000 in one morning, and moving closer to the $10 million goal. This early success reflects the strong commitment of the Chatham-Kent community to supporting the essential services provided by the Children’s Treatment Centre.
The entire community is invited to participate from October 7-20, 2024, in a series of 11 events throughout Chatham-Kent designed to bring the campaign closer to its fundraising goal. From family-friendly activities to local business involvement, there’s something for everyone, including a British High Tea at Tim Hortons, a White Glove Dinner at McDonald’s, a Halloween Bash at Red Barn Brewing Co, and much more. For the full calendar of events and to purchase tickets, please visit: buildforthekids.ca.
In addition to attending events, the community can show their support by purchasing a campaign t-shirt for $25, with an order form available online and pickup at the Foundation office. Local schools and businesses are also getting involved. Starting October 7, students and employees can purchase paper butterflies, which can be personalized and displayed in schools and businesses, engaging the community in a collective effort to support the cause.
“We are overwhelmed by the generosity we’ve already seen from our community,” said Mike Genge, President & CEO of the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent. “This final campaign is about coming together as a community to ensure we can open a facility that truly meets the needs of our kids and their families. Every contribution counts, and we know Chatham-Kent will make it happen.”
