Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent Achieves $10 Million Fundraising Goal in Grand Finale Event

CHATHAM, ON –   In a thrilling finale held on Sunday at The Capitol Theatre, the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent (CTCF-CK) proudly announced the successful completion of its $10 million fundraising campaign. Over the past 14 days, the Foundation has worked tirelessly to raise the final $500,000 needed to build a new state-of-the-art Children’s Treatment Centre, and thanks to overwhelming community support, that goal has not only been met but exceeded.

Throughout the two-week campaign, a total of 11 events took place, each contributing to the campaign’s resounding success. Local businesses, schools, and individuals came together to support the CTCF-CK, creating memorable moments that will have a lasting impact on the community.

Two standout moments included the generous donations from local business owners Kevin Owen and Scott VanderSluis, who pledged to match a portion of all donations, which totaled an impressive $30,000. Their commitment inspired local farmers and business owners Jean Marie and Lucy Laprise, who matched the contribution with another $30,000. Local schools also played a key role, raising $6,000, and once again, the Laprise family stepped in to match that amount, propelling the campaign beyond the $500,000 target.

As a result of this collective effort, the final total raised during the two-week campaign exceeded expectations, reaching over $540,000 and bringing a triumphant close to the ambitious Build for the Kids campaign.

“We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible support from our community,” said Mike Genge, President & CEO at CTCF-CK. “This campaign has demonstrated the power of unity, generosity, and a shared vision for the future of children and families in Chatham-Kent. The new Centre will provide vital services for years to come, and we couldn’t have done it without every individual, business, and school that contributed.”

The new Children’s Treatment Centre will continue to serve children and youth with special needs across Chatham-Kent, offering essential therapies and support in a fully accessible environment.
