(CHATHAM, ONTARIO) – On April 5, 2025, the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent (CTC Foundation) hosted its third annual Gala for the Kids at the Chatham Armoury, raising an incredible $160,325 in support of local children and youth with physical, developmental and communication challenges.

Guests dressed to impress for this year’s “Golden Age of Travel” theme, stepping into the elegance of a glamorous 1960s first-class journey around the world. Spanning 90 feet across the front of the Armoury, panoramic screens showcased breathtaking scenery from each continent, paired perfectly with themed appetizers, a five-course meal, and a late-night snack to create an unforgettable global adventure. The evening also featured captivating performances by local cultural dance groups, including the Cornell School of Irish Dance and the Portuguese Club of Chatham Folklore Group.

“This community continues to amaze us with their generosity and passion for helping our kids,” says Mike Genge, President of the CTC Foundation. “Every dollar raised helps ensure that no child in Chatham-Kent falls through the cracks when it comes to accessing vital services and support.”

A highlight of the evening was the excitement of the live and silent auctions, where guests bid on an impressive selection of exclusive travel packages, one-of-a-kind items, and unforgettable local and international experiences—all in support of the CTC Foundation.

Funds raised from Gala for the Kids support programs for Chatham-Kent kids that are not covered by government funding—like Social Work, Therapeutic Recreation, and Music Therapy—services that make a world of difference to children and their families at the Children’s Treatment Centre.

One in five children in Chatham-Kent relies on the Centre each year. Thanks to the success of events like this, more kids will receive the care, connection, and confidence they need to thrive.

Coming up next, the Foundation will host Run for the Kids on June 22, 2025, at Rondeau Provincial Park—a family-friendly run/walk with a 200m and 5km accessible route. All are welcome to participate and show their support #ForTheKids.
