Where your Money Goes.

The Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent works to raise community awareness and funds for the Children’s Treatment Centre (CTC-CK).

While the CTC-CK receives funding from the Government of Ontario, primarily through the Ministry of Children and Youth Services, this support does not cover all of its needs. The CTC-CK Foundation is responsible for generating approximately 10% of the Centre’s annual costs through fundraising efforts.

Funds raised by the Foundation help support critical therapies and programs at the CTC-CK, empowering children of all abilities in Chatham-Kent to reach their full potential.

Programs Your Donations Support:

Social Work

Registered Social Workers work with children, youth, and their families to:

  • Support families in understanding and accepting a diagnosis or their child’s needs
  • Educate families to strengthen advocacy and coordination skills, helping them navigate transitions to school, high school, and adulthood

  • Group programs (e.g., Challenger Baseball, sailing, sledge hockey)
  • Adapted recreation equipment loans
  • Support for creating inclusive, accessible programs in schools and the community
  • Connections to community recreation opportunities
  • Recreation education and funding support

Music Therapy

Music therapy is a clinical, evidence-based practice that uses music to support development, health, and well-being in children and youth. Guided by a certified Music Therapist, sessions include:

  • Individualized therapy to achieve specific goals
  • Collaboration with Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Speech-Language Therapy to support development
  • Strategies like singing, playing instruments, movement, listening, and songwriting
  • One-on-one or joint sessions with referring therapists

The Foundation may also be asked to support other therapies, programs, or equipment by the CTC-CK on a priority basis. When additional funding is needed, the CTC-CK presents to the Foundation Board of Directors for special consideration.

Your donations to the CTC-CK Foundation are essential to ensuring the Children’s Treatment Centre continues to deliver vital programs and services for children in our community.
