(August 5, 2022) – Thank you to everyone at the Chatham Kent Community Foundation and the South Kent Wind Community Fund for helping to our Therapeutic Recreation and Life Links programs with $6,500 in grant funding.

Through this, participants were introduce to a local Chatham-Kent recreation activity using adaptive sailing boats that are built to be sturdy and easy to steer. Participants built confidence and skills as they set out independently or with a buddy to sail on Rondeau Bay. In addition to this, the adaptive sailing program also works to increase communication and/or social skills, while also improving overall physical, emotional, and cognitive development.

Life Links programing places a focus on youth ages 9-21 years who have a confirmed, primary diagnosis of a physical, communication, or developmental delay, and focuses on skill development that builds on progression from paediatric to adult services.
