Merry & Bright Brio Academy Event Raises $5,000

(Chatham, ONTARIO) –  Brio Academy students and family joined together this past Christmas to raise money for the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent (CTC-CK) by hosting a virtual performance featuring their students. The Merry & Bright Fundraiser took place virtually on December 19, 2020. Brio Academy students from the dance, musical theatre and drama programs performed virtually with the help of YourTV Cogeco and host Robyn Brady in support of the CTC-CK.

“It was an honour for our staff and students to have a way to put their hard work and talents to good use this year. We work to teach community engagement and citizenship through all our programs, because having the opportunity to share your gifts for the benefit of your community is an amazing thing!” says Rachel Schwarz, Brio Academy Founder.  “Many of our families have been touched by the work the CTC does, and everyone jumped at the chance to work on this initiative. We are so proud of our incredible Brio students, families and faculty, and touched by the generosity of everyone who donated.”

The CTC-CK is the only organization in Chatham-Kent with over 70 years of experience providing specialized, quality therapy to children and youth with special needs in our community.

“The performances by all students were just amazing! I would like to thank everyone involved for their incredible support of the CTC.” says Mike Genge President of the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation.  “It is critical that our kids continue to receive the best care possible when they need it most. This donation and the support from Brio means families continue to receive connection, comfort and support through accessing these services.”
