Chatham-Kent Leaders Honoured at National Philanthropy Day Awards

[CHATHAM] – The Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent (CTC Foundation) and the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (CKHAF) are pleased to announce that two respected local leaders have been recognized by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Canada South Chapter at the 2025 National Philanthropy Day Awards.

Mike Genge, President of the CTC Foundation, has been named Outstanding Fundraising Professional, and Bob Hockney, Past Chair of the CKHAF Board of Directors, has been awarded Outstanding Fundraising Volunteer. The awards were presented November 14 at a ceremony held in Windsor.

As President of the CTC Foundation, Mike Genge has demonstrated exceptional leadership, vision, and dedication to advancing philanthropy for children and families across Chatham-Kent for more than 25 years. Under his leadership, the CTC Foundation led a community campaign that raised over $10 million and successfully secured an additional $59 million from the Province of Ontario, enabling the creation of a state-of-the-art new Children’s Treatment Centre. Beyond the CTC Foundation, Mike’s career includes raising and lobbying for more than $96 million to benefit vital local initiatives, including the CKHAF, Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre, and Chatham-Kent Hospice. His recognition as Outstanding Fundraising Professional reflects his unwavering commitment to effective, ethical, and impactful philanthropy.

Bob Hockney is being honoured for his outstanding volunteer service and advocacy in support of local healthcare. As Past Chair of the CKHAF Board, Bob played a key role in advancing important hospital initiatives and continues to volunteer his time to build strong donor and community relationships. Known for his generosity, humility, and deep commitment to improving patient care, he is widely regarded as a passionate ambassador for philanthropy in Chatham-Kent.

National Philanthropy Day recognizes individuals and organizations whose contributions strengthen communities across Canada. The recognition of both Mike and Bob reflects the meaningful role that philanthropy plays in the health and well-being of residents throughout Chatham-Kent.
