Mobi Chair Project.

Accessible Beach Experiences for Everyone

The Children's Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent is proud to provide three Mobi Chair Floating Beach Wheelchairs, giving individuals with disabilities and limited mobility the opportunity to enjoy Chatham-Kent's beautiful beaches.

Mobi Chairs are specially designed, amphibious wheelchairs with large floating tires that travel easily over sand and allow users to safely enter the water. Whether you're planning a family beach day or simply want to enjoy the shoreline, these chairs help make the experience more accessible and inclusive.

Using a Mobi Chair is easy.
  1. Visit one of the participating locations.
  2. Complete the sign-out sheet.
  3. Enjoy the chair for the day.
  4. Return the chair to its storage location before leaving.

The chairs are available on a first come, first served basis.

Making Chatham-Kent More Accessible

The Mobi Chair Project reflects the Children's Treatment Centre Foundation's commitment to creating more inclusive opportunities for children, youth, adults, and seniors throughout Chatham-Kent.

This initiative was made possible through the generous support of the CK Community Foundation, the Municipality of Chatham-Kent Councillor Ward Funding Grant Program through Hydro One, Five-Eau, the Rondeau Yacht Club, Savard Contracting, Bouma Construction, Dam Home Hardware, Pebbles Gravel & Topsoil, and many other community partners who helped bring this vision to life.

Together, we're helping ensure everyone has the opportunity to experience the joy of a day at the beach.
