(CHATHAM, ONTARIO) – The third annual Run for the Kids was held on Sunday, June 22, bringing together hundreds of participants and raising an incredible $120,000 for the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent (CTC Foundation).
From toddlers to grandparents, individuals and teams ran, walked, and moved their way through Rondeau Provincial Park, united by one goal: to support local children and youth with physical, developmental, and communication needs.
As the proud Champion Sponsor, Enbridge Gas once again played a leading role in making the event a success. Thanks to their generous support, this year’s Run for the Kids featured a 200-Metre Kids Dash and an inclusive 5KM walk/run/move, celebrating the abilities of participants of all ages. The energy and enthusiasm throughout the day, fueled by music, cheers, and a strong sense of community, created an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
The family-friendly event also included craft stations, face painting, BBQ hot dogs, and fun activities thanks to community partners like the CK Play Rangers, CK Raquet Centre, Rondeau Park, and Lally Auto Group.
“Enbridge Gas is proud to once again be the Champion Sponsor of this amazing and meaningful event,” said Jim Redford, Vice President of Energy Services. “We have been a longtime partner of the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent, and every year our employees love to volunteer with this organization because of its strong impact throughout our community, and the critical services they provide to allow children and their families to realize their potential.”
Proceeds from the Run for the Kids support essential programs at the Children’s Treatment Centre, including Social Work, Therapeutic Recreation Services, and Music Therapy, all of which are not funded by the government but are vital to the well-being and development of children in Chatham-Kent.
“This event continues to grow year after year,” said Mike Genge, President & CEO of the CTC Foundation. “We’re so grateful for the overwhelming community support. Every dollar raised stays right here in our community and helps ensure children and families have access to the services they need to thrive.”
The CTC Foundation extends its heartfelt thanks to the participants, volunteers, sponsors, donors, and community partners who made this year’s Run for the Kids such a success.
